International cooperation
Serving Poland in the shadows
The cooperation of the Foreign Intelligence Agency with intelligence services of other countries is a direct or indirect result of not only obligations of the Republic of Poland as part of various alliances, but is also regulated by the current requirements of our service. Cooperation with our NATO and EU counterparts is a priority for AW and it is conducted in several fields, i.e. information exchange, operational and technical projects, and trainings exchange. Given the nature and scale of contemporary threats, it is also crucial to engage in a dialogue with partner services outside of NATO and the EU.
The current cooperation with partner services is conducted via AW liaison officers stationed abroad as well as their counterparts accredited to Polish intelligence services. International cooperation translates into substantial benefits for AW. At the same time, it is strictly subordinated to current foreign policy priorities of our country as well as Polish national interests. The above-mentioned factors define the Foreign Intelligence Agency’s international policy.
